Isn’t there more to this verse? Yes. But today I am focusing on the first part. I want these words to stand out. We are being watched closely to see if we are really living the Christian life we profess. The people who know us best are especially watching us. My husband and children see me behind closed doors where no one else sees. Am I behaving one way for outsiders and another for my family. My children are not as far along in their faith as my husband and I are. They need solid examples of how to handle life’s challenges and problems. They need to witness me living out what I tell them. Otherwise I am being hypocritical and will eventually lose their hearts. Our friends and neighbors are also watching us. There are some who may never pick up a Bible, so therefore the only reference to God they will see is our lives. Let that sink in a minute…..The way we are living greatly impacts the lives of those around us. I am so very thankful that God equips us to live this life of faith. 2 Peter 1:3 says “By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life”. It is our responsibility to actively choose to live in ways that point others to Christ. Keep this in mind as you go throughout your day. Be aware of your words and attitude. Remember we are ambassadors of Christ in this fallen world.
