Today’s love dare teaches us that we must not only follow our heart, we must lead it. In our marriage, we won’t always feel like loving our spouse. We must choose to love them in spite of any irritations or annoying habits they may have. Choosing to love is what will keep our marriage alive in hard times. “Newlywed love” only lasts a short time. Reality sets in and real life takes over.
If you have over time let yourself slip into a habit of focusing on the negative qualities of your spouse, it is time to make a decision to turn your attention to the positive qualities they have that caused you to fall in love with them. Learn to delight in your spouse again. Enjoy being together.
