Today’s dare is all about being mindful of our spouses. Choosing to be intentional in our thinking instead of being careless and complacent with regards to our marriage; being thoughtful and actively attending to the needs of our spouse. Thoughtlessness can creep up on us and become the normal way of living. To demonstrate thoughtful love we need to understand the differences in thinking between men and women, and not let those differences become a source of strife. Men tend to be more direct in their approach to life, while women often hint at what they are thinking and expect their husbands to grasp the full meaning of what is being implied. The Bible speaks of God’s design for marriage, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make a helper suitable for him” (Genesis 2:18). Recognizing these differences enables us to work together to better understand our spouse.
CHALLENGE: Contact your spouse sometime during the day with no agenda other than to ask how they are doing, and if there is anything you can do for them.
