Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”
Today’s dare is focusing on how we think about our spouse. We can either choose to think about all of the things we like about them, or think about the annoying, irritating habits they have. Our attitude comes from our heart. The Bible says to think on the things that are good and praiseworthy. If our focus is on the negative, our whole attitude will be negative toward that person. We probably didn’t start our relationship with a long list of their bad qualities to go over every day. We fell in love with the best of who our spouse is. But since we are all human, and sinners, we all have a negative side that causes us to act unlovely at times. Thanks be to God for His loving mercy and grace that He has so freely given us so that we can overlook each others’ faults and extend forgiveness. We must make a conscious decision daily to focus our thoughts on the positive attributes of our spouse. Love chooses to believe the best of people. Remember, we also have our own list of negative qualities that others have to put up with.
